It all starts with breathing. Children with Spinal Muscular Atrophy must have a good foundation in breathing before they can begin to achieve more with their movements. Spinraza and Zolgensma stop the progression of the disease but they don't teach our kids how to move. That's why I am here. To teach you where to go to help your SMA child, 1. learn to move through gravity, 2. initiate movement foundations, and 3. be successful in creating movement.
This link will redirect you to the Movement Lesson™ site so you can access the course. The body will choose breathing over movement. So if your child's breathing is compromised in any way, their movements are restricted.
Better head control comes from stabilizing the pelvis and teaching it how to balance and counterbalance with head movements. The pelvis affects all movements. By improving pelvis function you improve all movements.
